Cookie Policy

1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how K8Studio uses session storage, local storage, optional cookieless analytics, embedded media, and similar technologies on k8studio.io and accounts.k8studio.io.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or device when you visit a website. Browser storage technologies, such as local storage, can serve similar purposes.

3. Necessary storage

On k8studio.io, we store the key "k8studio_privacy_preferences" in your browser's local storage. It records whether you allowed analytics and external media, the date of the choice, and the policy version. This is necessary to remember and apply your request. It expires when you clear site storage or when we replace it after a policy change.

On accounts.k8studio.io, we store the authentication key "k8studio_account_session" in session storage. It is necessary to keep you signed in and is removed when the browser session ends or you sign out. The portal may also keep grid filters and column preferences in local storage so your account interface remains usable between visits. These preferences contain interface configuration, not Kubernetes or payment data. You can remove them through your browser's site-data controls.

4. Optional analytics

If you consent, we load Rybbit in cookieless mode to understand aggregate website usage. It may process page URL, page title, referrer, browser, operating-system category, device type, screen size, session duration, campaign parameters, approximate location, and events such as download clicks.

Although this configuration does not place an analytics cookie, it accesses and transmits device and connection information. We therefore do not load it until you consent. Rybbit and download measurement are disabled when you reject optional processing or withdraw consent.

5. Download measurement

If analytics is enabled and you select a download, we may record the package, title, URL, version, file name, selected platform, and approximate country supplied by delivery infrastructure. We do not create a browser or hardware identifier for this event and no measurement request is sent when analytics is disabled.

6. First-party UxxU diagrams

Interactive UxxU diagrams are a first-party K8Studio function operated by CloudOps S.L. The embed loads from app.uxxu.io and requests the diagram data and media needed to render it. The embed bundle does not use cookies, browser storage, or analytics. As with any web request, our hosting infrastructure receives ordinary connection and security-log data described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Account sign-in and checkout

The account portal does not load Google OAuth when the page opens. If you select "Enable Google sign-in," the Google sign-in library loads and Google receives the connection and browser data needed to provide authentication. If you continue, Google provides K8Studio with the account identifiers required to sign you in.

Stripe checkout opens only after you select Checkout. Stripe then processes the payment details, billing address, tax information, and connection data required to complete and secure the transaction. K8Studio does not store complete payment-card details.

8. Optional external media

YouTube videos and other third-party media are replaced by a placeholder until you consent. Loading external media lets its provider receive your IP address, browser information, page URL, and interaction data. YouTube videos use the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain where supported, but Google can still process data when you load or play the video.

9. Your choices

The first-layer dialog offers "Reject optional" and "Accept all", with a separate option to choose categories. Optional categories are off by default. Use "Privacy choices" in the footer at any time to change or withdraw your choice. You can also clear this site's storage in your browser.

Rejecting optional processing does not prevent downloads, contact, documentation, pricing, or other core website functions. A video remains unloaded until external media is allowed.

10. Retention

Analytics and identifiable event-level download data are retained for no more than 13 months, then deleted or irreversibly aggregated. Your browser keeps the privacy-choice record until you clear it or a policy-version change asks you to choose again.

11. Providers and more information

The optional providers currently covered are Rybbit for analytics and Google/YouTube for video. Google OAuth and Stripe are contacted only when you request their sign-in or checkout functions. UxxU is a first-party K8Studio service rather than an optional third-party provider. See the Privacy Policy for recipients, transfers, legal bases, and your data-protection rights.
